The Britsh Museum Korea -The Korea Foundation Gallery- 라고 썼다.

The twentieth century has seen a flowering of interest in the arts of Korea, which are today widely admired and collected. Korean arts are prized for their unique style and craftsmanship, which reflect both the rich native culture and outside influences from other parts of Asia.

The new Korea Foundation Gallery houses The British Museum collection of Korean art and archaeology, widely regarded as the finest in Euroupe. Exhibits from early prehistory to the present day are on display, including fine examples of stone sculpture, paintings, printed books, screens and folk art as well as ceramics, lacquerware, gold and bronze. The gallery explores themes ranging from geography and language to clothing and accessories, religion and everyday life in order to illuminate the fascinating culture of Korea. A central feature of the new gallery is a reconstructed scholar's studio or sarangbang, designed by the renowned Korean architect Shin Young-hoon, and constructed by Korean master craftsmen. The sarangbang is complete with waxed paper floors, handcrafted furniture and bedding. According to the Confucian principle of dividing the sexes, men and women occupied different areas of the traditional Korean house. The sarangbang was used by the gentlemen of the house as a study and for receiving visitors.

One of the most important pieces in the gallery is the 'Full-Moon' jar dating from the Choson dynasty (front cover). This plain white jar is regarded as quintessentially Korean, admired for its natural simplicity and the irregularity of its form. The jar was first acquired by the British potter Bernard Leach in Korea in 1935, who later gave the piece to Austrianborn potter Lucie Rie. This piece was acquired by The British Museum through the Hahn Kwang-ho Purchase Fund.

A seperate section of the gallery is devoted to rotating displays of contemporary Korean paintings, prints, and ceramics purchased in recent years, illustrating how living artists are exploring both old and new art-forms.
